Colombia North

Activos Mineros has worked on the northern part of Colombia, an unexplored belt with high potential for copper and gold deposits. Until now, the company has applications in four interesting grounds however Copey prospect is the most significant prospect.

Copey is a copper-gold porphyry target where outcrops red siltstones which occurs in transitional contact with breccia tufss, rhyolite and andesite flow lavas, and fine to medium grained rhyodacite rocks.

Two styles of alteration and mineralization have been identified in the area: (1) gold-silver low sulphidation epithermal quartz-bladed calcite veins hosted by volcanic rocks texturally destructive clay alteration and very weak replacement silicification; (2) copper-molybdenum porphyry style alteration and mineralization hosted by volcanic rocks.

Mamatoco prospect is located on the northern sector, the gold ocurrences are present in a Precambrian unit consisting of ortoneises, granulites and amphibolites, crossed by thick massive quartz veins of mesothermal type.
